the publicity carnage continues this week with an interview by the awesome jesse of photographik, an uber cool website for both brides and photographers.  i have had the pleasure of chatting with jesse on a few occasions and i have enjoyed the conversations, plus photographik is at no small fault for some of my recent pub

edgebrt and lisa are a wicked cool couple from across the pond.  they are getting married in heidelberg germany, and im wicked bummed i wont be photographing the ceremony there .  but ill live .  maybe.  anyway, we got to hang out for a while in downtown mckinney, and i must say, the conversation as we shot was stellar!  and after we shot, it was on to the pub .  i really felt like i got to know them well, and i am looking forward to the reception!

emily and her mom, our beloved aunt loyce :), came up from houston for a shoot.  emily had never had her photo taken, and missed her senior pictures, so i wanted to bless them with a portrait session.  dude, if ever there was a natural in front of the camera its this girl….ahem…*clears throat*…woman ;).

seriously, i took about three shots, she was real nervous and like “i dont know what to do”.  so i gave her one small instruction, and it was like penelope cruz showed up!  does she not look like her?

its over.  the contest for favorite couple of the year has a winner.  jeremy and tara by a landslide.  i could write for a very long time, but i will save that for the wedding post :).  basically i cant wait to shoot this wedding.  these are heros in this post-modern society we live in, and we should all stand up and give honor to them (if you make it ).  ill let you all in on the secret in a few months after the wedding  

so this was a very interesting shoot for many reasons.  not the least of which, is that about, oh, six shots into this shoot, my 50 1.2 lens gets smashed to the dickens by my trusty assistant (nothin but love).  but that was the only bad part, as after that we ROCKED IT!  then, top it all of with a trip to uncle julios, the single greatest restaurant in the history of restaurants, since the restaurant era has begun with the first restaurant.  all i have to say is go there, order a Guadalajara, extra mexican butter, fajita cheese, a Chinaco with Cointreau margarita on the rocks, start with a cup of queso with picadillo, and tell them erik sent you. you should be taken care of and as well fed as you have ever been. and dont skimp on the mexican butter, trust me!

i am so excited to be back to blogging again

dane and ashley are a real cool couple.  ashleys bridal was wicked. i love it when brides have straps! everyone was so nice and welcoming, that makes my job so much fun

the venue actually turned all of the lights on in the middle of dancing because their contract time was up! i know that everyone wants to go home, but good grief. im sorry, but it left a bad taste in mine and everyone else’s mouth.

regardless, everyone had a great time, thanks in part to reber and co. who always rocks the freaking house!!!! hands down my favorite band to play at a reception so far.
